PETER MURRAY
Peter Murray lives and breathes music. His 40-year, multi-faceted career has always reflected that passion: as a bassist, singer, band member, solo artist, sideman, writer, producer and marketing consultant.

MARKETING CONSULTANT
In 2003, Peter was introduced to a new Italian bass amplifer brand called Markbass, and became one of their first endorsers. This led to an eight-year partnership that changed bass amplification forever. Over the following seven years, he lent his promotional power to Pigtronix and helped revive one of the great guitar and amplifier legends, Supro.

BASSIST AND VOCALIST
Peter picked up the bass at age 15, started gigging at 16, and has never stopped. He’s recorded and toured internationally as a band member (surrender dorothy, Druckfarben), sideman (Ron Sexsmith, Damhnait Doyle, Laila Biali) and solo artist. He currently entertains audiences in the Toronto area several nights a week with the legendary Dave Murphy Band.

AUTHOR AND JOURNALIST
Peter literally wrote the book on how to play bass guitar: Essential Bass Technique—now approaching its 30th anniversary. He also wrote bass columns, product reviews and artist profiles for Canadian Musician magazine, and cover stories for Bass Player. He has interviewed over 25 of the world’s top bassists.

SINGER-SONGWRITER

PRODUCER
Peter has produced albums for Morgan Finlay, Wooden Stars, Pamela Brennan, Snailhouse (Michael Feuerstack) and others.
