ADVERTISING AND MEDIA RELATIONS

Advertising on social media is very powerful in our modern online world, but there are many diverse digital options available, and sometimes even print is worthwhile. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with MI media (musical instrument magazines and their websites) still presents a powerful marketing opportunity.

Musicians often turn to MI-focused outlets as authorities on gear, so getting a positive review or mention in one of them gives you a strong endorsement to promote. As these magazines and sites are exclusively read by musicians, the promotion they offer is highly targeted.

As a result of both his MI marketing work and his journalism career, Peter has an excellent network of international contacts that will help you get your products reviewed, and he can put together effective marketing campaigns. He has managed countless product launches, all have which have included writing press releases and sending them out to MI media around the world. For this purpose he maintains updated press lists to suit any type of product launch. While he was working with Markbass, he managed and hosted annual NAMM show press conferences, introducing and presenting new products to editors of all the top guitar and bass magazines. In the summer of 2021 he managed press relations for a major Markbass product launch (MB58R) and was flown to Italy to assist on the international launch event, meeting with media from across the globe.

PROMOTION THROUGH MEDIA

PRODUCT REVIEWS

Getting your products reviewed in online and print magazines can boost brand credibility and sales. Making this happen often relies on pre-existing relationships with media outlets. Peter's many international connections can help!

ADVERTISING

Advertising campaigns can give you valuable exposure to your target audience, but to ensure success you need to work with the right media outlets and craft a well-planned campaign! Peter can guide the process: communicating with media, collecting options that fit within your budget, creating or collaborating on a detailed strategy and managing whatever photo/video content creation and graphic design is required.

SPONSORSHIPS and PROMOTIONS

Depending on what you're promoting, sometimes thinking outside the box can set you apart from the competition. Sponsoring events or festivals, co-branding with other manufacturers, and product giveaways online or through magazines are just a few ways to spread the word.

WHAT PEOPLE HAVE SAID

THE IMPACT HE HAD WAS PHENOMENAL

“It was first as a journalist reviewing his book and music that I encountered Peter Murray, and then as Editor in Chief of Bass Player magazine, working with him as a writer. As an artist, teacher, and writer, he was talented and hard-working, and easy-going yet disciplined. So when I first heard he’d be promoting Markbass in North America, I knew that the innovative amp brand would be even bigger here than in Europe, which is exactly what happened under Peter’s watch. Knowledgeable and diplomatic, Peter’s every effort was carefully crafted and boldly executed. One of the Markbass press events Peter presented sticks in my mind as one of the best executed I’ve ever attended. And I have to admit: though the stars ultimately weren’t aligned, on more than one occasion I tried to recruit Peter to come work for me. Good thing though, because the impact he had at Markbass was phenomenal. I have no doubt that Peter will continue to have an impact in whatever he undertakes.”
